Canine parvovirus-2 (CPV-2) is a highly contagious and key enteropathogen affecting the canine population around globe by causing parvoviral enteritis (CPVE) vomition. CPVE one of leading causes morbidity mortality in puppies young dogs. Over years, five distinct antigenic variants CPV-2, namely CPV-2a, CPV-2b, new CPV-2c, have emerged throughout world. CPV-2 infects diverse range wild animals, newer expanded their host to include felines. Despite availability specific diagnostics efficacious vaccines, outbreaks been reported globally due emergence variants, expansion viral range, vaccination failures. The present chapter describes latest information pertaining virus properties replication, disease manifestations an additional recent updates on diagnostic, prevention control strategies CPV-2.
